King care anyone?

i dunno i dont think my kings poo smells any worse then my rat snakes (don't have a corn.... yet) and i think that my rats musk smells at least 10X worse then the kings lol

and yeah lydia likes to hunt my hand too lol especially when i'm changing her water or fixing/moving things around in her tank... she has no fear

When I got my cali king, he was so unbeliveably docile, and he still is. He did regurge though on the first feeding because I think I fed him too big an item and then moved him into a new enclosure. Otherwise, hes a pig. Hes definately a cruiser in his viv though, always moving around. I learned that their care is very similar to corns. He seems easier to care for as he doesnt seem as delicate as my corns. Neat little guys. I think I will get more in the future. I kinda like the typical cali corn look or abberant patterns.

Update

Howdy folks!
I just wanted to update y'all on my kings.
The male is sweet as pie, but the female nailed me and is, well, very predatory. :sidestep:
The corns - I swear - don't like to be in the "king snake musking room".
Anyway, I was talking to a local mouse breeder/snake lover and he thought the kings were beautiful (which they are!), so I traded the pair to him for a 150 gallon aquarium for my huge red slider aquatic turtle. The turtle really needed an upgrade, so this worked out well for both of us. I'm done with kings until I can get my own place, (I'm living at my sister's while I'm going to college), and put them in a different room, and maybe pick the kings out by hand so I know they are gentle instead of getting a meany online. I may not get any at all. I'm a corn snake girl it turns out.

Well, I am disappointed in you. :grin01:

Just kidding. If everyone's happy, including the snakes, it's cool. I'm more of a corn guy, but I wouldn't want to lose my kings. I like them uh-lot.

And watch out for those meanie corns. They're out there. ;)

Everyone is happy in the long run, and now my new big boy 6 year old corn Dante is in my old turtles 55 gallon tank, so I didn't have to buy him a new one.
