Lady Loralei in the laybox...

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
Oh geeez... Loralei has been circling her tub endlessly for days now, and has become increasingly pissy. I bought her from a friend about a month ago, and she was cohabed with various males but was never seen breeding. She doesn't LOOK gravid, and I am not sure if I can feel anything (I'm terrible at palpating unless they are damn obvious eggs) but shes certainly settled in the laybox.

I put a male of mine in with her to see what her reaction would be, whether she was receptive or not but she completely flipped out. Another possible sign shes already expecting and she knows it. (I did not intend to breed her this year as she is quite small in my opinion)

She has put on 30 something grams in the last month, and shed quite recently. Who knows?

Heres Loralei, my beautiful anery lass.

And one of her potential boyfriends, she was cohabed with him for the longest period of time. (the others I think were a lavender and a pastel motley)

Oh my gravid lavender girl is in blue and is ever so slightly mahoosive. Shes got a whole string of big bumps, I am hoping for the best :)

I was confused for a second because I never recalled you saying you were breeding her.
Makes sense now.

Well if she is with eggies, despite the unwelcome situation of cohab, she's got some nice looking genes going into those pippies there.

What are the hets on both ends?

Oh it wasn't unwelcome, my friend did plan on breeding her. She cohabs her pairs during mating season until the females have their prelay shed. She never witnessed her breeding or saw any "evidence", but thats not to say she hooked up.

Loralei is het hypo for sure. Soo if the ghost boy got her then thats a nice matching pair.

I sort of hope she isn't gravid. I didn't think she was ready to lay a clutch this year. Shes well built, has great muscle tone and I'm confident she could lay a clutch and bounce right back, but meh... I didn't want 2 clutches this year.

It would be cool if she was gravid, and it'd be even cooler if that rusty guy was the dad!

It would be lovely if they produced such colourful ghost offspring. But I just don't want to get my hopes up. I find it strange that she hasn't taken on the typical gravid shape. Lacey has went very bloated and triangular, but Loralei just looks slightly round if that makes sense. I have noticed a change in behaviour since her last shed though, which is what prompted me to put a laybox in. And she has really taken to it.

Hmm, my ghost female and my Amel motley didn't get that triangular look either, they just got plump and "rounded".

I wasn't even sure Beauty, the Ghost, was gravid until she refused the first food offering after shed, so to say I was pleased she laid 17 eggs is an understatement :grin01:

Good luck and keep us posted (I didn't really have to ask that did I :) )

Oh squeee me thinks I felt bumps! Loralei is sitting with her bum in the laybox and the rest hanging out. Whatever I felt was small... if she is gravid I bet it's going to be another clutch of slugs :(

I feel awful for handing her so often and taking her out on photoshoots now...

But the handling would be good for her muscle-tone if she is gravid. I've been handling my girls if they're out of the laybox, just to keep those muscles trim!

It's a good thing I'v not been handling her often at all... I went to change her water about 20 mins ago and she gave me a good ole tail rattle. Funny thing is she ate about 4 days ago...

never get between a pregnant lady and her mouse...or something like that.

Best of luck with the eggs, will cross the available body parts for fertile ones.

Loralei went into her prelay today. I can deffinatley feel at least 8 eggs inside her. Shes a lean female, and still willing to eat so I am offering her a small mouse every 6 days or so.

Shes got a slight hint of that triangular shape, but not near as much as Lacey the purple heffalump.

That snake is definitely not 'thin', Elle.

She is a lean female Joe. I can't see how you can make definate claims from 2 or 3 pictures. Pictures are deffinatley deceptive... However in my opinion she is a lean female, that looks rather large in those shots.

It turns out the friend I bought her off KNEW she was gravid (had mated her to the peachy boy). She didnt tell me because she wanted it to be a surprise after all the trouble I went through with lacey first time round. What a wonderful friend! (plus she had her first pipper tonight that I get to go visit and take pictures of tomorrow, wheeee)

Loralei is all shedy and brown and in her laybox...
