This is my first Lavender Motley that I have produced. It is always special to see a project that you started two years ago, produce the Morph that you were hoping for. It was independently created, which makes it special to me.
I am certainly using up all of my good luck early this year. The parents were Hets for Lavender, Snow, Motleys. There were only 9 good eggs in the clutch and there are two Lavender Motleys in the clutch! I am going to be male heavy this year for sure! The other one is just poking its nose out. The most amazing thing about this clutch is there is only one normal in the group.
It is also weird for me to see Anerys and Lavenders in the same clutch. This is a new experience for me, other than the Lava Lavender clutch which was just born as well. The Rainwater Lavenders that I started with do not have the Anery gene in them. I am going to keep them that way.
I have to say that some of the Anery’s and Lavenders look a little different in the mixed clutches. Hopefully, Rich and others will figure out their relationship, before I even have a chance to contemplate it. I have one that is Smokey Gray without much lavender color at all if any. Some of these Anerys and Lavenders have to be double homos for the other trait. Come on guys, test them out and tell us what is up!
