Legit or Ripoff- Reptile Haven

Old Guy
Lars (Gelshark) alerted me to these folks advertising on Craigs list- Denver. If you go to their website they have hundreds of different reptiles for sale. They say if you live in Denver they will deliver for free.
What caught Lar's eye is under cornsnakes they had a pic of a Tessera but called it a Striped Black corn for $50.00. Lars asked them how many they had and they said 20. So he asked where could he go to see them and they told him they get their snakes from the east coast and don't see them till they get here. Seems a little fishy.
The part that is down right illegal is that they have "stolen" pics from breeders we know. Don at South mountain Reptiles looked at the pics and found several dozen that were from his website gallery and thought he recognized some of Rich's pics but Rich will have to verify that.
If you go to their website they have a bunch of pics misnamed like a pic of what looks like a bullsnake labeled as a Okeetee. That's just one mislabel there are dozens, it's kind of funny.
Please be careful
John

Nice, they are using the same picture for a lavender cali king and a hypo lavender corn. Do they really think no one will notice? Saw pics of Don's and Rich's too.

I recognize lots of SMR pics. The "black stripe" is the tessera posted in KJ's thread. Dang.

Their "albino candy cane" is also almost solid yellow. Think it's a butter? And I was staring at that lavender "king" and going "but the face is long and the pattern wrong.... o_O" Their "amber bloodred" is the same as their hypoblood. The caramel motley looks like a ghost. What is a "peach"?
I think the silver queen picture actually came from this forum. I swear I recognise that picture and that snake.
I think their "Albino Checker Garters babies" is another corn?

I've seen this before and thought the same thing! I truly amazes me how many absolutely ridiculous things people post on craigslist...

Hey, Jay. It's already well into hurricane season....and havens built on weebly stilts never last long.

Carmel.
Cramcicle.
Lavendar.
Stripped.

Sounds like a juke joint with half-clad waitresses who take turns dancing on the bar.

Just for grins, I asked them why they had the same picture posted for a lavender Cali king and a hypo lavender corn. Their response: "due to the simple fact they all start to blurr together after awhile."
LOL

Well it worked, some of the big breeders sent emails to the webmaster for stealing pics and all of the sudden the site is down.

LOL. Thanks for posting that. That is worthy of failblog.org.

Wish I could have seen it. Would have been good for a laugh, but there's nothing funny about stealing photos. Good work, John.

if they continue to use your pictures you can use the DMCA and issue a take down order asking them to remove your photos from their website. If they dont then you can go after them for copyright infringement.

I contacted them on Don's behalf and also the main site Weebly. Voila, site is down!

Also got an email response from them this morning saying "sorry for the inconvenience" or something to that effect.

The Pituophis labeled as an Okeetee took the cake. IMHO.
That pretty much sets a mood of how 'outlandish' it was.
The tessera labeled as a striped black/black striped corn, for $50 was just icing on the cake.

They obviously just wanted to broker snakes.

I wanted that Black striped corn for $50.00, they said they had 20.
