Leusistic Texas Ratsnake post-shed

Kokopelli

Resident Boa Fanatic
After the little fella "worked" at my friend's place (and is now the proud father to 10 eggs) he returned and went through shedding.
I just had to take pictures of him, I think he all glowing with joy at the prospect of being a dad :p

His eyes aren't quite blue... grayish. Also, his eyes are a bit screwed up, it's a genetic defect.Kind of makes him look like he is cross-eyed.
But actually it also makes him appear cuter and with a lot of personality.

I really love him, Texas Ratsnakes are infamous for being snappy- this one bit me only once, ever, when I first picked him up. Since then, he became as docile if not moreso, than my corns. An amazing snake, I -love- him :santa:

Very cool snake, despite the lack of blue eyes. hehehe. I've always wanted one, but I avoided them because I listened to all the lies about them being mean snakes. LOL.

Sadly those aren't lies... they can be insanely mean. Mine grew up to be one of the calmest snakes I know though.
A matter of TLC and luck I suppose :)

I think they would probably require more handling than a corn snake, but like you said, a little TLC and luck helps too. :)

Very lovely. I have one of those visiting me, but she's about 120g and still a bit pinkish. Both her and the black rat are just absolute sweeties though. Kinda makes me want to get one, but I have enough snakes planned without adding other rats.
