There ar so many options, I use fluorescent lighting and LED, You can find a simple strip light at Home Depot for like $10.
If you want bright, nothing beats LED ! (IMO)

I put it on top of the screen, ya know what I also did for night time viewing......I bought a short string of rope lighting, ya know like Christmas lights, and I secured them in the tank around the top, looks amazing

Just remember to keep it overhead lighting, as anything directly on eye level or below can damage their eyes :)

I secured it with a strong clear packing tape and ran it completely around the perimeter , inside but around the very top inside edge so you cant even see it from outside the tank, it doesn't make it bright but Its perfect for night time viewing.

Totally agree

LED lighting is great because it doesn't give off heat.
Tape of any kind inside a viv is a NO-NO. Snakes have been known to get a small portion pulled up and then gotten themselves tangled up and stuck.

Wat sort of tape do u use ?

None!! Well I use aluminum heat tape to secure my under tank heaters, but other than that NO TAPE anywhere around a snakes cage. I use Blu Tack to hold down thermostat and thermometer probes inside tanks. A LED strip light like this could probably be secured with Blu tack or just set on the top of the tank.

Here are some threads indicating why you should not use tape around snakes.
