Lights on at night

I leave my snake in my bedroom where I keep a large standing lamp that allows me to dim the light. If I want to get a good look at him will brightening the light at night disturb him significantly ?

I wanted to get a good look at him to check for a noticeable bump because it's been 24 hrs since he fed and i'm not sure how much he weighs yet and I suspect he's due for at least 2 pinkies soon , so I turned on the lights to the max , but I usually keep them fairly dim if I leave them on in the room.

If you want to be sure to not disturb him, you could get a red light. Those are often used for night viewing so as not to disturb the snake.

But don't use them if you have your snake in your bedroom. After several nights of having red lights on in your bedroom, you will go a little crazy. I speak from experience :p

I've had Orichimaru in my bedroom since I bought him as a baby. It's been 3 years and he's just fine. I turn the lights on and off as usual, TV on whenever... all normal stuff.
