Instead of using a untank heat pad can u use an infrared heat lamp. Its a lamp i read the box and they use it to like incubate eggs and stuff so i was wondering if that would be good enough. Also since some reptiles can't see red light would it be stressful to the snake to leave the light on all night. It is not a bright light just really red and im not sure of that wattage but the bulb is the size of one of those floodlamps or heat lamps that you can buy at a petstore its just this one is red.

i dont know for sure but many people have said red lights are ok, the snake cant see it, but then I was wondering if black lights (they shine purple for those of you who dont know) would be ok, can they see that??

I personally have used both and I think that the red heat lights are better....and it doesn't seem to have any effect on my corns....so I think that I would prefer the red lights.....
the black lights....well....I just don't like it as much but still I haven't seen any health problems with it.....and now since my black blub went out I have switched to all red lights.....and tons of flexwatt heat tapes....hahahah
