Line-Breeding?

ricorns

I may be opening up a can of worms here, but what are peoples feelings on line-breeding? I have not yet bred corns, but with all the other herps I have bred I will not do it for more than a generation, and generally not at all. I figure most of the animals I have must have come from stock that has been line-bred at some point in its history and I don't want to do anymore on top of that. I have seen lots of comments that make it appear that corn breeders don't hesitate to line-breed. Thanks for your input

A lot of times, breeders here are trying to prove out their snakes for certain genetic traits. Thus, they breed sibblings and or father/daughter, mother/son. This way they can tell what the traits of the little ones are by breeding them with known snakes. I know that a lot of the other people on here will have more info and different views on this, but this is what I have gathered from my time here.
