Looking for proper info on the care of Glossy Snakes

A certain sister-in-law of mine *cough*ceduke*cough* is apparently fair determined to get me a Desert Glossy Snake for my birthday, which is in a month. I've been searching, and asked someone on another forum, but have not gotten any real info on their care.

I know so far that they are somewhat related to gopher snakes, are nocturnal, and seem to prefer hiding in rocky outcroppings in the wild. This doesn't help me with...

Warm/cool side temperatures
Acceptable substrate
Minimum tank size
etc.

While I don't know if I need one to own, I'm getting a fishing license just in case as you can collect them from the wild if you have one.

So, if you yourself know, or know someone with the knowledge... Please help me get prepared for a very very lovely snake!
 
Just a suggestion... If you continue to have terrible luck finding care info, you could probably use compiled care info for some species that live in the same area/habitat. I'm not saying look up such a care sheet and follow it to a "t", of course, but use info for similar/similarly-habituated (if that makes sense?) species and use it as a starting point.

Glossy Snakes (Arizona ssp.) are from the western part of the USA. Their care is about like that of a corn snakes. Except the hot side needs to be closer to 90F. Adn they sometimes refuse mice and hold out for lizards. If you can't get lizards that might be an issue. But someone like me with freezer 'o crap. I don't care whats in there.
 
This one is from Hillsboro, NM and he is eating F/T mice very well, according to the seller.
 
If you subscribe to the Reptiles magazine, then their January 2014 issue has an article on Glossy snake care. I can transcribe it to you in a private message, if you want. :)
