Loose scale and mites?

As said above, if you use any of these products improperly, consequences will be a result. Nix is a relatively safe and effective way of completely eradicating mites when used properly. Just because someone thought to release a product that is directed for reptiles doesn't make it any safer or better. As mentioned, permethrin is the exact same ingredient in PAM and Nix.

As for the OP, if you feel more comfortable with PAM for whatever reason, Exclusive Snakes in Brampton sells it and they ship Canada-wide. They are great to deal with.

Just an update, we are on day three without seeing a mite. Thursday I found two dead mites and those are the last ones I have seen. Severus just ate and seems to be more relaxed. Wonder if the mites were causing him to move around, trying to rub them off. Thanks for all the advice.

Don't forget to re-treat a few times over the next several weeks, to get all of the life cycles of the mites. You don't see mites until after they have eaten and turn dark, you won't see the eggs or nymphs.
