Lost my first one....

The Rule Of Thirds.
While cleaning tubs last night, I came to find Marguerite, my sweet bloodred (66% het lav and hypo), belly up.

The frustrating part is that she showed no signs of distress or "neurological deficiencies"....she seemed just fine at her last feeding.

The really frustrating part is, of course, the "big plans" I had for her. Given her genetics, she was destined to be the foundation for my diffused lav/diffused hypo lav project, and this sets me back a year. Of my 20 corns, if I had to choose one to die on me, she was at the bottom of the list.

Murphy is messing with me, and I don't even have eggs on the ground this year.

I'm going to miss her adorable disposition - she would literally want to slither up my arm once the tub was opened.

Goodbye, little one. You'll be missed.

regards,
jazz

Your post speaks to the inevitability of mis-haps in this hobby. You can do everything 100% correct and still cannot account for problems, issues, sickness or disease.

Sorry to hear about the unexpected loss.

So sorry for your loss! Seems like if you are going to lose one, it is never one you just wanted to sell off - always one you really like or is important to your breeding projects.

Hope your plans go well for this year!

Dale,
Having lost a few myself I personally understand how hard it can be, especially when it is one that means a lot to you. My sympathies go out to you.

Dale I'm so sorry. I lost one this season as well that meant a lot to me so I know how you feel.

My sympathies to you as well. Seems like the ones Murphy puts his finger on are the ones who touched you the most... certainly this year for me it has been.
