Maybe You Can Learn to Be Like Me, Mom!

Snake food? Are you kidding? I had to sneak the mice into the bins so he woudn't cry at the injustice of it all!!!!! He's fine with f/t, but f/k was way beyond what his little mind could deal with.

LOL... I had the same thing happen with my girls. Sadly though it was at weekly feeding time, because our petshop that we got our snake at fed live I thought at the time, that was the way to go. I had done some research, but thought the shop would know the proper way to do. ANYWAY, when we would pick up mice(which i'm petrified of) my daughters wanted to keep them as pets. I'M SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND OUT WE COULD FEED F/T!....lol

Maybe my kids are broken (I am just kidding of course) LOL, because neither one of my girls is upset by this AT ALL. They are cool and totally at ease with nature doing its thing.

LOL. Your girls are just fine!! I guess I didn't discuss the nature part of it with them at the time. I'm sure if I had explained it was like watching the lions eating the antelope they would have been fine with it, since that never bothered them because I DID explain that to them...lol

That's awesome. Congrats to your youngin'.

Maybe instead of passing out the pandas around here.....we could try bunnies

Awww, I would be proud too. Congrats! And how AWESOME is the fact that the school has a compassion award!

How awesome for both you and Matthew! I'd be so proud, too! And he's a cutie! Congratulations! :D

Thank you all for the kind comments. Matthew is going to absolutely BEAM when he sees this thread!

Thanks, Carol, it IS awesome! They award it twice a year along with several other Guiding Principle awards. Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE our school district?? From the Dean to the teachers to the secretaries to the service people and all the parent volunteers, this school ROCKS!

Aww, huge congratulations Matthew and well done!!!

He's a little cutie Lori, thanks for posting and sharing with us! :)

I could tell from some of the comments you have posted in various threads that you must be a very caring and thoughtful mom. As the old saying goes, "the proof is in the pudding" (or kid, as the case may be!).

Congratulations to both of you for a job well done!

CONGRATULATIONS MATTHEW!!

And good job Lori -- yeah there's nature and nurture, but you have to be doing your part too, or you wouldn't have this great kid.

Congratulations, and thank you for sharing the good news! It's nice to read about such a lovely boy getting rewarded for good behaviour!

You guys are so sweet...thank you for all the nice comments. Matthew had scouts today where he earned another achievement toward his Wolf badge, so he's feeling like a super special boy today. I think Happy Meals are in order! ;)

Aww he is so cute! It's always nice to see well mannered children, unlike the ones I normally meet.

Congrats Matthew and keep up the good work.

Lori,I finally saw that pic of Matthew on FB from the summer when he prematurely took his tooth out. I had to laugh, because even though I never got pics, both my girls would do the same thing. Being twins if one lost a tooth, the other one was going to be darn sure she did in short order so the tooth fairy did bypass her..AHHHHHH wonderful memories of little ones.

Good job on being a good guy, Matthew! I know you don't do it for awards, but it's still nice to know that people notice.

You too, Lori.

Matthew just finished his online homework, so I showed him this thread. He was so excited! "Wow, I'm online!" After reading all the comments, he said "those people are so nice." Followed by..."I was so much younger in that photo."

Thanks again, everyone. Matthew can't wait to tell his teacher that he's on a snake forum!

Congratulations Matthew and Lori! I'm going to agree with Carol and say that it's so awesome that your son's school has a compassion reward and rewards for respect!

By the way - your son is adorable! :)
