Meet Garnet

Aozora

Blue Sky Reptiles
I did it again. I went to a Repticon to get snake hardware, and walked out with a snake. Forum member mikem was vending there, and he had some beautiful little tesseras. I talked with him for a bit, and then spotted this little girl. He told me about her genetics, and I was sorely sorely tempted. I had to walk around some and call my roommate for input. (Said input? "Buy her." Enabler!) So I went back and got her.

She's already shed and eaten for us, and she's a wiggly little worm, so she's hard to photograph.

Aozora, it was very nice meeting and chatting with you! Glad to see this little one is in good hands! Looking forward to more updates! Thanks for sharing :)

It's been a year, so it's time to update the thread to show y'all how Garnet is doing.

It turns out she's not actually a bloodred Tessera--she's a masque Tessera het bloodred. She's got some beautiful reds throughout, and also on her belly, but she doesn't have the coloration for a true bloodred.

She's a good-natured snake, but she's picky about food. She's a little princess and she has to examine the mouse thoroughly, nudge it a few times, and then she might deign to eat. She's never refused a meal, but it all has to be up to her standards.
