Don't worry, I use a very strong heater here. My snakes are usually a helluva lot warmer than I am.
Nice to meet you! I'm Jen, a 22 year old from Michigan.
I got turned onto Cornsnakes back in highschool, when I owned two little hatchlings given to me for my birthday.
Unfortunately, well... you know kids. I had to go on a trip and trusted a friend of mine to take care of them. Unfortunately, despite my instructions, both snakes got sick from the cold and passed away. It was a huge hit for me, and so I didn't purchase any more corn snakes for years since then. Instead, I started picking up snakes that were in rather dire situations (IE from trailer parks, misinformed pet stores attempting to feed babies crickets or supplying wrong substrate, or generally people who didn't want their snakes anymore and had the bodacious idea of just... letting them go. Yeah, we have those people here). So anyway, ALL of my snakes, mostly boas, found new homes. One was even a 5 footer that I built a cage for from scratch.
After I got all these little rescues out, I joined the army. Needless to say I didn't have much time for pets.
Now that I'm out, however, my boyfriend and I adopted a little corn snake from the pet store around here. They were feeding her crickets and had her in pine bedding, and she looked skinny. I know I know, not supposed to "rescue" sick snakes, but she was so pretty.
So... she's ours now. And you wouldn't recognize her.
She was advertised as a Sunglow, but I'm not sure that's what she is, nor am I sure of what her hidden genes might be. However I aim to find out!
Almost everyone who's met her has suddenly wanted a corn snake. So I figured... hell why not do some breeding?
I did some research and fell in love with the Pewter morph. I suppose that's one I will consider working for in the future. I also really love the Lavenders, but I'm unsure of how to go about breeding for it. Could anyone help me with that? From what I read you can't really breed FOR it, you actually have to introduce it into your line.
Until then though, I'm just sitting back and enjoying my babies. They're captivating! Currently, I have 7 in all. The one I bought in March from the pet store, and six others I ordered from Don Soderberg, of SMR.
And yes, I have pictures!
In order...

This is Rave. She's the mystery "sunglow" picked up from the store. As you can see, she's no longer the skinny hatchling I felt sorry for, but a voracious eater (and I mean VORACIOUS!, she would gulp down three fuzzies at a time that I was worried might be to big for her singularly). For a while I was actually worried she may become obese, so now she's on a diet and being exercised more often, much to her chagrin. Any suggestions on her morph would be more than welcome! (and sorry for the poor photography. Snakes are squirmy.)

Rave now!

This is Athena. She's a charcoal I ordered from SMR, and she's quite lovely. Very dark for a charcoal, and I like how monochromatic she is.

This is Artemis, whom I suspect is Athena's charcoal sibling. He's a little more laid back than she is.

Eva has been claimed by my boyfriend John. She's timid and almost lazy, which I suspect may have something to do with her eyesight. A very delicate and pretty Blizzard.

Jade is an absolutely gorgeous Ghost from SMR. She has dark blue/grey eyes and beautiful coloration, not to mention a totally neat area of perfect zigzag on her pattern, near the end of her tail. Does this sort of thing breed true or is it a fluke?

Xerxes is my star. He's a bloodred, but very small and a picky eater. I hear that's something not completely uncommon for bloodreds though. Taking extra care of him, because I can't wait to see him show his true colors.

Houdini is a normal corn snake, and I can't believe how beautiful he is. He's het for Anerythrism, but it doesn't matter to me, I think he's got great coloring. He's the biggest one I have right now, very energetic and yes... a great escape artist.

Well that's all for now! I'm currently building a sort of shelving unit for these guys (except Rave, she's got her own little dwelling because of her queenliness). Any suggestions regarding my hopeful projects, building a cage, or just general comments are much appreciated.
