Milkshake the milksnake (progression)

I got this Pueblan milksnake in April from a somewhat-local breeder. He has 2 speeds - SUPER fast and just chill, like he is in the pictures. The 4 corns are usually always on the move, usually at a slow pace, but this snake is my TV buddy when he's calm (which he usually is, though sometimes not right away). He is getting much better about the pooping when I take him out, and sometimes he doesn't even fight me. I do often chase him around his bin, but today he could have pooped and wrapped on me but he didn't, so that's progress!

His name is Milkshake because of a Swype error on my friend's tablet. I found him on Craigslist and was discussing him with my friend. She typed milksnake and it turned into milkshake, so I said that IF I got him, that's what his name would be!

I figured it was time for him to have a progression thread.

Milkshake shed a few days ago and was looking so pretty so I decided to trust him with some pictures where he wasn't in my hand! I had my daughter there on standby to grab my phone so I could grab him quickly if I had to.

He was so cute, lightly balled up in my hand when I put him on the ground. He sat there just looking and tongue flicking. Then he slowly ventured out bit by bit, and then he was exploring and starting to go into the grass. Thankfully he wasn't too fast and also didn't fling poo when I picked him up again. Progress! He is such a cutie.

Milkshake seems to be outgrowing the musking behavior. Fingers crossed! I took him out last week only to realize that he was very blue, but he didn't try to flee or musk at that time, which surprised me. I fed him after his shed and 2 days later, I took him out again and he opened his vent somewhat but nothing came out. Since he was behaving so nicely, I took him outside for pictures. He was very curiously tasting the grass, but of course my camera only captured the blurry movement!

awe, he's handsome! he's SOO big compared to Arber!!
I'm loving the milk snakes right now, soo different from my corn.
but still very neat animals!

I almost got a pueblen!! but I fell in love with how tiny and small the mexican milkshakes where, so that's what I ended up getting, not that I regret it at all I love my milk!
