Missing my babies

So I go to school in California, but I live in New Hampshire. This means that during vacations my two corns go to live with my boyfriend 15 minutes away from school, while I fly back across the country.
I've been home for about a month now on summer break, and I seriously miss them! He gives me daily updates on how they and their kingsnake neighbor are doing, but it's obviously not the same as being right there.
They're both hitting their growth spurts right about now, so when I come back at the end of August, they're going to be like completely different snakes!

So does anyone else have to part from their snakes (or any pet!) for any length of time? What do other college students do?
