I know most of you travel this site because you like the small corns. But in case you like the big snakes..... Here is one of my education animals giving me a surprise on Thursday.

And no, I am not releasing them into the everglades.... :sidestep:

Can't be too good....only 8 look 'good'. But...still got my albino het granite (33 last year) and my granite (virgin). Always fun to dabble in some of the 'other' snakes.

Maybe it's just me, but saying that you "dabble" in burms and/or retics is like saying that some physicists out in Los Alomos "dabbled" in explosives. ;)

Should be fun seeing the hatchlings, though. Keep us posted, Jeff.

regards,
jazz

The clutch size on here was great...but most of them were duds.

I got 8 good ones from her and 42 DUDS!!!!

The male was a green burm het albino and she is supposedly het albino green. We'll see if she prooves out.

Here are some pics or her and some of the others I have....a normal granite and albino het granite.

okay, okay....maybe I more than dabble with the big snakes. Can you blame me? I lived in Oklahoma for 3 years and was an hour away from Bob Clark. How can you go to his place that many times and not end up liking the big snakes a little? :shrugs:

I did breed the albino retics back in 02 but they were too big and my partner and I decided to sell them and he got the striped ball pythons and I went with boas and blood pythons. That was the only partner deal I ever did and it worked out very well....as we both needed someone to help handle the animals. With my burms, I built the cage with them in mind so it has a shift door so I can safely clean and feed without getting in contact with the snake and then when I need or want to have them out I always make sure someone else is around just in case. On that note, though, they are really calm and are a big hit at my educational shows.

I don't know...market price I guess? :shrugs:

Congrats on the surprise, and good luck with the babies. I love Burms, but will most likely never get one. I just don't have the facilities to keep such a big snake.

Well, I'm at the 30 day mark and it looks like most of the original 8 eggs that were left probably will not make it to hatching....I just don't think they are good. This is the 2nd year this female has done this to me! :shrugs:

Oh well, on a lighter note...the albino het granite pictured dropped 41 eggs......1 dud and 40 good!!! :crazy02:

Now I just have to wait it out for 60 days......give or take a few.
