Mom & Son- Hypo Striped Sulfur

I was questioning if the little Amber striped Bloodred het sulfur boy was going to be big enough to breed his mom (hypo striped sulfur) this year but he jumped in there and got it done. I wanted to take a pic of him on top of her but didn't want to disturb them.

Nice John. Only creepy if you think about it too much. How big is that boy? (grams) I think I have his brother, and I hadn't even thought of breeding him yet. I might be able to try some pairings I hadn't thought possible. I wish more of my girls were bigger!
 
Gosh they're both so pretty. I'm going to do a breeding where a striped sulfur is the target morph, but the hypo effect on that yellow is just stunning.

Hope you get lots of awesome babies from these two!

I just weighed him and he is 112 grams and maybe 2 foot. Yes it is a little creepy and I wouldn't breed them back together except his parents are not even remotely related.

Ive heard that smaller size males sometimes produce infertile eggs. I am not trying to be negative or accusatory, not in the least.

But I am just wondering, does anyone has experience with that? I would definitely like to start breeding my males earlier too

Don (South Mountain Reptiles) has seen that you can breed these males starting at about 18" and expect good results. I think timing is more of an issue as I have gotten infertiles from adult males who the year before produced great clutches and the year after but sometimes I miss my timing.

Can you explain a bit further about missing your timing?
do you mean that some years they are good and some not, or is it an issue of correct timing for brumation/waking up/shedding/breeding?
