"Quality Before Quantity"
Hi everyone,
Our first clutch of babies that hatched on 6/18 for the most part have taken their first meal. We had 15 of 20 eat. These guys hatched about a week and a half earlier then I had expected them to so they all weigh in between 6 - 8 grams each. We purchased some extra-small pinkies and they still seemed a little big for their first meal. All our babies are being housed in a rack system with each snake having its own shoe box sized bin. We took the pinkies and cut them in half and put each snake in a delicup with the half pinkie and then put the deli cup back in the bin and then put the bins in the rack. We left them alone and checked them the next morning and sure enough, 15 babies had eaten. Hopefully we won't have too many feed problems with them. We are going to wait another day and feed the ones that have eaten a whole extra-small pinkie and the ones that haven't another half pinkie. Hopefully things continue to go well with our first clutch. Thanks for reading.
