motley question

Words of wisdom from Don!
I think his reply to you also helps resolve the question on whether motleys can have belly checks. I am glad he mentioned that as well, because it causes doubt on whether the snake is in fact a motley for some people when they see a few checkers, but it does seem to be popping up more and more.

Not really :(

Yeah, I have already hatched some out. Remember this thread:

I also talked to Don about this. I showed him pics of my hatchlings and he is seeing the exact same thing in his Lavender and Caramel lines. It's becoming more and more common. He expects to start seeing Homo Motley's with full belly checkering in the coming years.

Scary Scary

Aaah the good old motley and stripe arguement. You guys should have been in my house when corncalc was being written and various opinions were being voiced as to the "correct" terminology. Particularly when many of the opinions were being given in half-english-half-dutch. I look forward to tessera going in. NOT! :sobstory:

i have one for you...

i have a hypo patternless poss het lavender...forget the hypo and poss het lav for now...since the patternless are technically vanishing stripes, would i get a visible morph if i bred it to a motley>>>again not having anything to do with any other genes??? or just simplify this by asking, if i bred a vanishing stripe/patternless to a motley would there be any homogonous animals in the f1 clutch? or does that only work with a "normal" stripe to a motley, or does it not work either way(getting homogonous babies in f1)???

genetically a vanishing stripe (patternless) is just a stripe, so bred to a motley you will get visual motleys that will be genetically motley stripes.
