The whiffle ball cartoon above was "inspired by a true story"... hubby found this whiffle ball and suggested it would make a good mouse toy... so I put it in the cage with the mice... and within a few moments one of the mice was securely stuck in the whiffle ball... We had to save her by pouring vegetable oil over her head and pulling her out by her tail. I changed the heros of the story to a couple of other mice for a better cartoon.

The tassle cartoon was from when I had only one cage of mice... I had a tassle in the cage attached to a bell and whenever they rang the bell, I gave them some sunflower seeds. (This was when the kids had mice that they had named as my founding mice for my feeder colonies)

Last but not least...
Mice and wheels are fun. I try to have a wheel in my "weanling" bins... when I have a lot of mice in the weanling bin, I can sometimes have up to twenty young mice try to run on the rat-sized wheel I have in there. I've even left some of my mouse wheels set up outside cages... and have come into the mouse house to find up to three WILD mice running on the wheel! The main mouse in this cartoon, Mavra, was really the founding female who helped to create the mice in "mousedom".
