Took my daughter out to a local spot yesterday for sunset and a few snaps. Mostly I just wanted to prove that my camera works in color, too, when I want...

Unfortunately for Zayne, she had left her camera on earlier in the week and killed her batteries. I did have the chance to explain when, why, and how to use graduated neutral density filters to her, though at 6, I'm not sure how much she will remember. Truth be told...she stood there, listened, and even asked questions. I can't really expect much more than that from a 6 year old that was freezing her little booty off...can I?

Yes, your camera does quite well in color, too, lol!

Isn't it wonderful when youngsters show some interest in what we love? We have recently gone on a few outings with an old friend who moved away, and now has a 5 year old daughter. This kid is amazingly cute and smart! So of course, Bill had her taking photos with his big, ol' DSLR. Almost bigger than the kid, haha! But she took some surprisingly good photos. Bill acted like a proud papa!

If your daughter continues to show interest in the subject, it is going to be an awesome hobby for you both to share!

My 2 proudest moments thus far in life are when my daughter, at 2 1/2, picked out a cornsnake in a pet shop, held it, and asked "Please can I have a snake just like this one someday, Daddy?" She walked out of the shoip, snake in hand.

My second proudest moment...I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and her reply was, "A camera, so I can go take pictures with you." She got one...a really nice point and shoot, and a small tripod. Of course, the camera is pink, but it is a high-quality camera...for a 6 year old.

She's my baby, for sure...
