My First Corn Snake, A Male Snow (I Think)

Not the best pictures, but I tried a few while holding him and he is still adjusting to me. :)

And his terrarium, which I have a question about. (Probably not the best place, I know). This is the tank that he has been living in, and I'm going to be getting an under tank heater very soon (tommorow hopefully). But has anyone seen a tank this shape before? I havn't been able to find a new lid (the one on it is half plexiglass, half screen), the dimensions are 36" Long, 10" Deep, and about 18" High.

I can try to get better pictures if anyone is interested.

Cute snakey!! You may want to move his water bowl to the corner to make it easier to find or at least along the edge of the tank and get a bowl big enough for him to soak in if he wanted. Also he needs two hides one for the warm side and one for the cool side so he can choose his temps and feel secure there. Also I swear last thing maybe a little more aspen to burrow under and help when you add the UTH!! Enjoy the new one their tons of fun.

You might want to add some fake plants/vines/groundcover and hides to help the snake feel secure in there. Looks like he's living in a bubble.

Those are on my list of things to do :) Is the tank too narrow? Would it be worth getting a wider one?

I'd advise getting some of the artificial leaves that you can hang and drape over the wood, I bought a bit of it and my corn snake absolutely loves them, I find her on top of them or curled up in or underneath it all the time. I'd try to find an american variety of leaves though, I don't know how they'd react to things they wouldn't normally encounter in the wild.

you could also flip the tank on its side and get one of those hinged screen lids that are divided in two parts..just make sure you do have plenty of clamps to keep all parts closed..ofcourse this works great if the tank is at the right "length"..as well..

Good luck..and sure..we always love seeing photos of other snakes..post away.
