My First Hot!!

Careful Nancy... It's a slippery slope....
We all know the saying....
Red on yellow
Sugary Jello...
And one bite and you will swell... Everywhere....

Pretty soon you will be looking for this pair.....
Trying to score sausage snakes......
LOL

Nanci thats rather irresponsible of you to get a hot without mentoring....

No need to worry! I've been exposed to hots at many, many shows. I have lots of experience. Plus, I actually observed a couple of these in the wild, and even caught one so I could be sure of the ID.

OMG Nanci this is adorable! I saw the first pic and smirked a little, but when I saw the rest I was downright laughing, especially that 'feeding' shot!!

What exactly is he? He looks different from other snakes I've seen. He almost looks gooey/slimy but I know from owning snakes they aren't. You should def have him checked by the vet.
Btw I don't get what is so funny. Is there some inside joke I am missing?

He definitely looks like he's lost his tail tip to a bad shed, but it seems to have healed well...

I sold at least 30 or 40 of those tiny coral snakes...

at the Repticon show this weekend. But I think you probably enjoyed yours more than anyone else I have ever sold one to! And that even includes all of the 5 or 6 year olds, haha!

Okay, but I can't handle him for 72 hours now that he's been fed...I don't want to take any chances!

I think I have his sibling..lol..mine's name is Hal..short for Halloween..which is around the time I got him..LOL ;) ;)

Beautiful photos btw!:roflmao:

Bump for Tom!! I heard you were looking for a breeding loan. So if you wanted to do a hybrid project, this might be your guy!!

Several things come to mind:
First: I really thought you had finally joined me on the dark side-and then you show me this!
Second: He appears to have a small kink...are you sure he'll be okay?
Third: I'm impressed you got a coral to eat a pinky...they usually only go for snakes....Wow!

Meg, he's doing great! I've had him almost two years. The kink doesn't seem to bother him much at all, but he hasn't grown much. He's still doing well on FT mice.

Wow- I was afraid you were going to yell at me for free-handling him. It's okay- he's just so tame I feel completely comfortable!
