Meet Ridley :)

Ridley is a male 2013 black milk snake. I'm super excited to have found one locally.

Isn't a black milk snake usually... black? That looks like a nelson's to me...

Great looking snake, though!

They always look like that when they're young. They gradually darken to jet black as they grow, I believe. And they get fairly big! Congrats!

I would love to own one of these some day! Great find! Keep us updated as his color changes.

Yup he will someday be jet black and (hopefully) around 6 feet long. They are the biggest of the milk snakes :)

I can't wait to see his progression.

Few more pictures

He actually shed in the deli cup on the way home. So he's looking extra bright!

Lucky!!! I would love a black milksnake. The breeder of my 2 non-corns has babies hatching any day now .... but no, no I am not getting one. My Pueblan is enough for me!

So jealous!! SQUEE!!!
These snakes are on my 'must have' list!
I cannot wait to see the progression of yours, you MUST post regularly!!! <3

Very nice, congrats! I toyed with the idea (and still do) about getting either a black Mexican king or one of these.

I was originally looking into a mexican black kingsnake when I found a thread comparing the MBK to the black milksnake. It was really tough to decide. A lot of it ended up being the attitude, these guy are evidently very laid back as adults. Which is awesome since they get huge!
