My foster kittens will out-derp anything! Now with more derp!

I have 3 new foster babies. They are bloody adorable and social and sweet. But they also make the *derpiest* expressions. I had to share.

These are 7, 8, and 9 for me this year so far, and the third litter. I'll probably have at least one more litter after them before the season ends.

Kitten season it never ends... at least there is a few less out there now to make more..
We have a few ferals here but my neighbors who feeds them has tnr as well as given one who got hit by a car a leg surgery (he's a tri pod now). So it's 4-5 ferals and nothing more. Just so many animals.. not enough people helping!

So, so cute! Making me really wish I could talk my husband into letting me foster some kittens for one of our local rescues!

It's not that he doesn't like kittens, it's the opposite problem, he's sure that he will get too attached to them and not be able to let them go when the time comes.

So frickin adorable! I foster kittens too, for a no-kill shelter. I just have one little guy this summer. He's a tuxedo called Bruce.

Tavia, it's less hard to let them go than you think, because after the 'awwww adorable' bottle feeding stage comes the 'we have no idea what the litterbox is for and because we're on a new food we're going to have diarrhea EVERYWHERE!' stage at which point I begin chanting "Get them out of my house."

That's what I figure. I don't think I'd have too much of a problem with it, I like cats, especially kittens, but I grew up with a lot of barn cats and learned how not to get too attached to them, since they didn't tend to live long. And I'd be the primary care giver, so I can totally see getting tired off dealing with them when they get to that annoying stage.

But my husband is cat crazy and gets to spend 14 hours at work 4 to 5 days a week, so wouldn't be forced to deal as much with the aggravating parts of young kittens in the house. I have to struggle not to kill the ones between 3 months to 2 years old personally! Our 2 youngest are just finally getting to the bearable stage again, they are around 1 1/2 years old now. That's when they are no longer cute but rambunctious as hell, bouncing off walls, knocking stuff over and getting into everything.

But I keep thinking about offering to take some bottle babies, I've never bottle fed but I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, so it would be fairly easy for me to devote the time needed to it. My husband's Aunt is very involved in a cat rescue, so maybe I can get her to work on him for me.

It is hard to give them back for adoption. I've fostered 4 litters now, ranging from 8 kittens to 1 singleton. We always wistfully talk about keeping one, but at the end of the day those kittens don't need us, they will be adopted quickly into good homes. We ended up keeping one of the moms because she was very, very skittish and she settled into our home nicely.

Oh dear. Green Bean has managed to out-derp his sister. After I feed him, every single time, he will sit there with his tongue just sticking out.

My 17yr old male cat will do that tongue sticking out thing even to this day. He will sit there that pink tongue out every time he hears the rattle of the fish treat bag.
