The place I work had a litter of Gerbils, the parents didnt seem to be taking care of them, for 2 weeks i watched as the babies got JUST enough milk to survive (if u look at them, there is no milk in their tummys) And they havent grown! still the size of pinks. So i talked to one of the people there, Told them that one of my female mouses would care for anything, as long as it was a baby. I promised to return them when they were weaned and they agreed. So i took home the 4 gerbils, i took the moms current fuzzie litter out and put them with her daughters fuzzy/hoppers, so that I could guarantee these babies would get milk. And i put the babies infront of her hide, she popped her head out, smelled them, and then brought them into the house one my one and stuffed them under her tummy. They looked ALOT better and more lively this mornin.
