Noticed he's been a bit lethargic recently, not his normal self. He's due for a good shed any time now. Got him the 3 in 1 cave shelter with the (can't spell or say the word) moss. He noticed it earlier and crawled in there and dug a hole and hasn't come out since. Nice and humid in there so that may be what he was looking for?

Plan to never see your corn snake with that cave..that will be his home..lol..trust me..mine have the same cave and they're in there for days.lol..they love it in there..just make sure to look I side the cave once a week atleast to check for moldy moss or feces...congratulations and welcome to the community.

I know!!! He ran into it and it's been a good 3 days so far and he only came out to get a drink and ran back in. He is super "milky" and his eyes clouded over, so he should be shedding soon. Once he does we will be getting him out to handle again. But yes, he loves it. He does seem cold while he is in there but I guess they can self regulate by moving if needed.

Yeah it's a perfect place for them specially when there shedding..I put mine on the side of the heating pad to warm it up cause I had the same problem with mine being cold. But it doesn't matter corn snakes being from cooler areas of the united States don't need it to be high 80's mine seem to like it a little cooler..specially compared to my ball pythons..

We have 4 others too! Another black cat that is 4 (female). She's fat and happy and glad to have some kittens to watch!

In regards to shedding: my corn just finished a shed, I had the mentioned above 3 in 1 hide with the moss. With that said, he still had an incomplete shed. There is a small portion localized on the right neck that didn't shed. He eye plates shed as I found them, but there is a small diamond on his back that didn't shed and the area on the right neck. I've let him run around in the 3 in 1 with moist miss for another 32 hours and it looks slightly better but it's still not fully shed.

Should I be concerned about this? Or can I see if he is able to get it off with the next shed?

Incomplete sheds happen sometimes - check your humidity but sounds like you are already on it with the moss. The really important things that you must make sure come off are the eye caps and the tail tip.

I'll definitely be doing that in the next day or so. Disk t realize he didn't have a complete shed until AFTER I fed him. Saw the drying wrinkle on the scales

So it's been about a month since his last shed! Weighed my little guy 3 days ago and he's up to 23 grams! I have 3 pinkies left in the freezer and then I'll be switching to dizzied as I'm sure he will hit 25 grams by then!

Update on the Shed as well; I put the Luke warm water and a towel in a container and it worked like a charm. 20 mins later and it was gone!!! Will post pics soon!

Sound like your little guy is moving tight along. Once he's on fuzzies he should really start to grow.

It seems like it took us forever to get up to the mid twenties. Now suddenly with this last feeding we're in the mid 40s.

Congrats on doing so well. It's really fun to care for our snakeys and watch them grow!

He lost a little weight this time as his shed hit right at the end of his last feed break. Still have a few pinkies left. He's back to 23grams as of last feed and at 21" long! 4 months old I do believe now.
