My New Impulse Acquisition

Susan

Go Ahead, Make My Day!
I first saw this particular snake advertised a few months back, but since I was lacking funds at the time, I had to let him go. I've been checking all the good sites almost daily in hopes of finding one similar. I got very lucky and caught the same snake being advertised again. The breeder only posted his ad for about 2 days so my continual checking paid off. This handsome fellow is now a a part of my collection!

He's a jungle corn...mother is 1/2 corn and 1/2 California kingsnake, father is 1/2 corn and 1/2 Thayeri kingsnake. He has a 66% chance of being het albino and 50% het motley. If I decide to try my hand at breeding jungles in the future, I'm thinking of maybe my amel banded motley as a future mate...if I don't break down and purchase another similar jungle female.

I haven't named this guy yet...I'm going to have to really think about this one for awhile! Sorry about the photo quality...I'll get better ones later.

Wow, he's gorgeous!!! He reminds me of an Imperial Pueblan, with the ring around his neck and the stripe not saddles. Maybe name him after a mountain from the range where thayeri are found?? (Don't know what that would be, though.)

Congrats Susan! That guy is cool as heck.

I'd have to go the "similar jungle female" route. I'd want that look perpetuated. :)

I'll buy it Susan, I'll send you the check and give you my.... Oh wait never mind. :grin01:

I can tell why you bought it on impulse, he's a real stunner. Congrats on the pick up.

Not normally a Jungle fan, but that one could change my ways!
Love the ventral, and for some reason "Freeway" came to mind as a name

What about a Spanish name? Aren't thayeri called Nuevo Leons?

Nuevo León (Spanish for "New León", after the former kingdom in Spain) is a state located in north-eastern Mexico. It borders the states of Tamaulipas to the north and east, Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí to the south, and Coahuila to the west. To the north, Nuevo León accounts for a 15 km stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border adjacent to the U.S. state of Texas.

I love his edges, too. I bet he has an excellent personality.

That is one neat looking snake! That bright white belly is lovely.

Can't wait to hear the name you've picked

That's a better impulse buy than another pair of shoes or a purse! I'm glad to see a few more people getting bit by the jungle bug. He's awesome!
