my new love Lavender

Yeah, I second that one. Beautiful pattern...so smooth looking. Almost looks like she'll nip you if you pick her up :) Every pic of a lavender I see tugs at my desire to purchase one more and more (of course)

Oh
lovely lavedner!!!!
Love that coloration on it and the pattern looks really nice and clear!!

Love it very much!!!

hmmm...I´m not sure but this one didn´t look like a lavender...
it´s not easy to say but I wouldn´t put my hands into the fire.
(that´s what we say here if something could be wrong).
where do you bought this here in europa??? or do you ordered this fom someone is the us???
maybe some of the pros here should take a look at this pic.
I would say it´s a very colorless ghost...????

I think the thing that concerns Pewter is that the ground color is pure and not tainted with the usual orange or yellow or pink color of most Lavenders.I like it !If it stays this way it should be a great looker when it gets big.

Know the breeder...........

Pewter brings up a vaild idea here. Many wholesalers will sell something by the way it looks. Breeders tend to be more accurate with the labeling of their offspring because they are accountable in the end.
The snake in question is a very monotone looking snake. That certainly doesn't mean it's not a Lav but it does leave the door open for the possibility that it's not. I have seen a few Lavs on Rich's page that have that look. I've taken enough pics to know that some of the subtler colors can get washed out. For instance, the bedding in that pic has a very pale yellow color on my screen, it doesn't look entirely accurate to me.
If you know and trust the breeder, I'd say call it a Lav with confidence. If you bought it from a broker and don't really know the lineage, you might consider the possibility that it's not a Lav.

Just some ideas to ponder.

your are right Clint,
and another interesting thing is that I looked at the pic at the monitor of my girlfriend and thought this lookes now more like a lavender. now I´m back and think that this lookes more like a ghost agian...
Im would say it´s impossible to say what it is by the look...for me at least ;-)

I've seen only 2 lavenders in person :)( i'm deprived!) but i'd believe this one is a lavender from the color of the eyes in the pic. i don't think ghosts have purplish eyes, do they?

ok,
so we must have different displays...I just can see dark black!
but anyway...some ghosts also have ruby red eyes when they are young...

I hate to bring it all down to money, but could you tell us how much you actually paid for the animal? That may be of some help in determining what it is or isn't.

I've seen some lavs that look like special ghosts, and I seen some special looking ghosts, that look like lavs. I've even seen one guy (can't recall who it was) selling lavender ghosts on kingsnake.com (talk about confusing! ).

It's just so imperative to KNOW who it is from whom you are buying so that you can be confident in your purchases. I'm certainly not saying that people shouldn't buy from anyone who is not nationally known (my small business would be killed off quickly, if I were! ), but I think reputation based on known business ethics ought to reign supreme in the internet trade.

That's why I'm so thankful for Rich's Board of Inquiry (BOI). Check it out BEFORE you buy something; you won't be dissappointed! BOI Link

thats right fatsie !
and i payed i think about 125$ to 150$ i dont know any more i buy them because i love them and money doesnt mather

Well, if you got it from Don, there is no doubt about it. You have yourself a lavender. That's about the going price for them right now, but even without the information of the purchase amount, Don wouldn't sell you ANYTHING that was misidentified in this fashion.

Congrats on a great looking snake!

thanks
but the this you have said i already said this to other people cause in holland more and more snakes are being sold as a lavender etc. the are sold because of there looks and not the gentics
