My ninja kittens

From adorable kittens into beautiful cats. They are gorgeous! I too miss having a little kitten running around. We have Gabriel - who we took in for Mike - but he is over a yr old already. He is more playful than our two seniors, but there is nothing more fun than a rambunctious 12wk old kitten!

They're still babies really, but looks like they're going to be big! The vet wouldn't believe they're age at their first visit until I explained their mother had fed them on rabbits she'd caught! I haven't decided yet if they'll be indoor only or allowed to go out when they're bigger.

Kittens are way too much fun. My daughters saw our kitten being thrown out of a car in a cardboard box. They stopped and found this tiny little thing in it. Brought her home and said " MOM, we can't bring her to the humane society, she's got a URI and they'll put her to sleep". So we kept her, got her healthy and she is now a 10 month old PITA. And we love the dickens out of her. Not a day goes by that she doesn't make us laugh.

Thanks for sharing your precious babies with us.

BTW. Ours is named PITA...lol(fits her to a TEE!)

Thanks! I adore them! They've adopted Ellie as their substitute mum, they steal her raw meat and run off with it while she wags her tail!

Thats too cute!! I had a dog and a cat who grew up together and died one month apart. Our dog was almost 14 and the cat we don't know but was atleast 14, she adopted us when she was pregnant and just stayed. Those 2 were inseperable all their lives. Is amazing what a bond dogs and cats truly can create with each other.

Ellie has always been taught she mustn't touch small animals, so every time the kittens approached her she thought she was going to be told off and would gingerly step over and walk away from them, only to be besieged as soon as she settled down again! Now they are bigger she's more relaxed, and I love the way they greet and scent mark her, and play 'hunt the dog's tail', while she bumbles around with a happier look about her.
When Ellie gets excited and really wags her tail it spooks the kittens into witches cats with the humped back pose!

Wow they are growing soo fast, the difference in size is amazing!

Our kittens are now 10 and 12 weeks old, we've had them 4 weeks (seems like they've been with us forever) and they've both exactly doubled in weight. They've beaten cat flu and just went for their first inocculations last Friday, didn't feel a thing :)

How expensive are vets bills though - injections at £50 each I had to say shocked me a bit. Then I think it's not £75 to neuter a female cat. Whew! More people would take out pet insurance if they helped you out with these standard costs.

Other than that though I have, like you, remembered how much FUN kittens are! It's been 18 years for me :)

Have you also found you've saved a fortune on the electricity because you're watching the kittens instead of the TV?

Yee-ouch! My vets is a bit cheaper than that, and because the girls are from the stables I can get them neutered under a feral/farm cat scheme for £30. Bob the foster cat was just over a year old when he came to us, Ralph the stray was an adult, so it's been 20 years since I had kittens hanging off the curtains. You're right Tracee, kittens are wonderful fun. I'd forgotten just how quickly they change from clumsy to graceful, and how slowly you have to walk when someone's hunting your shoelaces!

Haha definitely - although ours attack anything, they even chase the knots in the wooden floor... errrm....

Wow well done for discovering the scheme, I wish I'd known as we got ours from a farm too. I'm just so glad they survived the cat flu; the 3 kittens we had to leave behind and another pregnant mother & her babies will surely all be dead now :(

I've got a funny picture at home I'll have to upload and show you.. Here's what I have already uploaded:

Simba on the journey home, very sick with cat flu:

Tracee, they're adorable! I'm so glad they survived the cat 'flu and have a bright future with you.

:-offtopic, buuuut :D I named my Bloodred girl Ripley to the same effect. Also, I have a new arrival that will be coming soon and she is going to be named Newt!
If I ever get another dog, she'll be called Ripley for the same reason!

And we thought Ripley was quite an original name!!

Thank you all, it's really amazing how a 6 week old kitten can go from so poorly to so fit within a week that she's literally climbing the curtains :)

Ripley looked perfectly well when we got her (that's why we chose her), but the stress of moving made her very poorly too. I'll never forget waking them up on a morning and they didn't even realise it was morning because their eyes were glued shut, poor things.

But onwards and upwards from now on! Kittens just never fail to make you smile, do they?

Just realised I haven't shown the ninja kittens for ages! The situation with the older cats is still difficult at times, the kittens are so boisterous they get swiped by Ralph regularly for being too cheeky and Bob avoids them as much as he can. I did catch a shot of a more harmonious interlude though, where Bonnie curled up with Ralph to snooze.

Right now they are jumping in and out of a big cardboard box the hoover came in. And up on top of a book case and around and over Ellie on the sofa. :)
