My ninja kittens

Hope you don't mind J9 - but thought I would share a few cute pics of our Gabriel (this is the little boy we took in for Mike):

Holy Schneikies, if that photo doesn't look like a "Kliban Cat" come to life (and that a high compliment)....

Somehow last night when he was playing in my room he managed to turn down the volume on my alarm clock so I slept in this morning and was late for work today!

So how late were you walking from one room to another? :p

:duck:

Within 30 minutes of the Christmas tree being up and decorated, the ninjas decided I'd installed a superior form of giant cat toy. What could possibly be cuter than a kitten in a Christmas tree!

Obviously, as the kitten' servant, I've put up a superior climbing frame and toy-hanger!

The ninjas have opened their Christmas presents, with a bit of help. After playing for a while they're now fighting again.

I just love your ninja kittens Janine!
I need to get some new photos of Gabriel. He has now decided that my bed time is his play time and makes mad dashes back and forth across the bed to the windowsill, back down to the floor - attacking anything and everything. He makes me laugh so hard but I don't know if I can even get a decent shot of his shenanigans!

Oh - and last night he hit my alarm clock again and this time turned the volume way up - so when it went off this morning - I practically had a heart attack!

HAHAH there really is nothing funnier than kittens in a christmas tree. When Puss was a kitten and her sister Holly was still alive, they destroyed the christmas tree. We went out one day after just putting it up, we got home to find it lying on the floor with all the decorations scattered all over the house. Nightmare.

I'm too scared to let my ninjas out Tracee. I can't get them booked for their spaying for a couple of weeks, but I still don't want my babies going outside after they're fixed.
Too many cars and nasty people around here. I surprised a gang of teenage girls trying to chase Bob the fostercat into the road last month. I was just coming 'round the corner and scared the heck out of them, but if I could keep Bob and Ralph too, in I would.

How awful... since when did teenage girls have a problem with cats?! That's upsetting, I'm sorry you have to put up with that :(

You're so right to keep them inside until they've been 'done'!

Here is a pic hubby snapped of Camouflage Simba looking a bit scared on her very first trip outside http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b19/tracee84/kitties/DSC08363.jpg

They are fully back to their crazy selves now and haven't held it against us for keeping them in a security cage while they healed :)

Have a very Happy New Year everyone and kitties, if I don't log in again before!

And the same to you Tracee, as I may be a little busy from now on, celebrating the new year with my number one obsession!

Ripley's poorly :( she stopped eating yesterday morning and has been sick. Vet advises to try giving her white meat or white fish tonight, but if she won't eat that we'll have to take her to the vets again. Poor girls have been through enough in their 7 months on earth :(

I'm worried that if this is fact nothing to worry about, going to the vets will upset her (she's ok in herself, as playful and affectionate as always) and then make her poorly. That's why they don't do a blood test before spaying unless there is good reason to, because it is so stressful for them. When Rippers gets stressed her breathing and eyes get bad because of her having cat flu as a baby. I'm so worried!

Oh Tracee, I certainly hope she ends up being alright. Our cat Cyrus has problems eating ANYTHING other then one certain catfood, which has no dyes and costs a bundle. If he even licks the bottle of liquid catnip he gets sick. So I'm REAL careful about feeding him anything other then the one food I know won't make him sick.
I certainly hope and pray she doesn't have anything more then an upset tummy and she continues to be in good health from now on.

Thank you so much :) I'm praying that she will eat some fish tonight and that will put her on the road to recovery.

The only obvious thing that could have caused it is the flea collar I put on her on Sunday. I didn't need to, we treat them with Frontline, but as they go outside now, I didn't want them to look like strays, and we'd had these collars in the cupboard since they were tiny babies.

Someone sent me this awful link which had me terrified - http://www.hartzvictims.org/ - but Rippers isn't acting at all like those cats, so I'm pretty sure it is just an upset tummy.

My mum's already been round to my house and whipped the collar off! Always give your mam a key to your house :)

Will let you know how she gets on.

When I was younger I worked at an animal shelter and Texas A&M Vet School, I will not let any of my cats outside!!! People are cruel and mean and get great pleasure in torturing animals! My Dogs don't even go outside unattended. I believe that you can create a very stimulating enviroment for cats/kittens inside that is safer for them. I have placed shelves for him to sit and look outside the window and watch the birds at the birds at the bird feeders, plus he isn't part of the killing off of the song birds etc.....

I had a similar reaction to a flea collar on one of my previous cats, so hopefully taking it off will help her recover quickly. Fingers crossed for her getting better soon.

I hope so, I really do. The fish went down like a lead balloon. She played with it, tossed it around everywhere! Eventually hubby got her to eat a tiny bit, but not enough. We also think she was sick overnight. I bought some plain chicken to cook for her on the way into work while hubby was calling the vets to make an appointment for tomorrow morning. They said she needs to go today. Thank goodness hubby's work let him use flexi time.

Sorry for rambling, I'm just so worried, I hope there's nothing terribly wrong. She's fine within herself - still runs up to the food bowl excitedly, just ignores it when we put it down. They both went into the garden last night and were stalking each other in the dark :grin01: I love the little bum-wiggle they do before they pounce!

I was wondering if she had a sore mouth or something :/ do kittens teeth ('tee-the') the way puppies do? She must be starving by now though and I don't think a poorly mouth would stop her eating. It's obviously her stomach. Poor Rippers. I hope tonight I'll be coming home to the whole family and they haven't decided to keep her in. Poor little girl, she's been through so much.

Sigh.

Hi kshannon. My two are farm cats and have been begging to outside since they were 10 weeks old, so now they've been spayed we let them out when they ask to go. That isn't often as it's freezing cold here right now! Thankfully we live in a nice area, though if I thought they wouldn't mind I'd probably want to keep them in too.

Before I moved into an apartment after my divorce all of our cats were indoor/outdoor cats. The only time I kept them in or watched them when they were out was a week before and a week after Halloween. People are sadistic and during that time especially we really had to watch our cats.
I don't know if I'd let Cyrus and Pita out now if I weren't in an apartment or not. Just so long as they have their nails( I abhor declawing) I don't see any reason not to let them out so long as your able to check on them regularly.
