My other hobby

dogsNdragons

and Corns, OH MY!
This is what I do when I am not playing with my snakes. ;)

This is Boone my Siberian Husky.
Rally is a course following a series of signs. Each sign has a different obedience exercise on it. The top score is 100 and points are deducted for slow to respond, out of position, tight leash (for Novice), improper performance of an exercise, etc. To earn a title the team must earn three scores of 70 or better.

Boone earned his AKC Rally Advanced title with a score of 94 and 1st place.

Congrats!!! I use to show dogs when I was younger. But I always was more interested in the obedience trials. I have never heard of a rally title before. That is awesome Boone did so well and took 1st place.

Again Congrats to you and Boone

Congratulations!! Boone is beautiful, and I enjoyed watching the video.

Up until last year, I had been showing my Pekes in conformation for years, and "seriously" since 2000, but finally got totally fed up with the politics, both in the ring and within the breed; really bad stuff. I'm still involved in my local KC, and have been an officer three years now. I told them I need a break now, though! At any rate, we got a Bulldog last Christmas, thinking "Oh yeah, he'll be just like our old Mugsy", who we had 11 years and was very laid back. Oh my gosh...Cosmo is such a goofball, and will jump over the 3' fence out back! I've been told by fellow club members I should try agility. I have done some obedience before, but never to compete. We have members who compete all the time, and some have dogs with MACH titles. I think it would be fun to not only have a goal to aim for, but to have such a good time getting there with your dog!

Again, congrats and good luck for the future!

Awesome, and congrats on first place!

A lot of people think huskies are dumb. I get sick of trying to explain how smart they are and that they aren't your average dog to train. My husky has very good manners, although not as good as yours, I gotta say. He looks like my dog almost to a Tee, though.

Thanks all.

Actually, Agility is my first love followed by Obedience/Rally. I am currently showing my Swedish Vallhund in Agility and Boone is still in training. I need to get some of my Agility videos onto the computer so I can post them.

I am also showing my Vallhund in Conformation but don't really like it. Give me performance anyday!

As for the Husky, I figured he would be a piece of cake after training a JRT and two Whippets for Agility/Obedience. :p
Actually, he was bred by a friend of mine and her line has really nice working dogs.
