I have another problem. I dont think the snake knows where his water bowl is. He might have found it late at night but im not sure. Are there any ways to ensure that he found it? I cant pick it up because i got it just a couple of days ago... how long should i wait to pick it up anyway?

Pick him up in a few days. Just for a short time though.

I don't know the awnser to the drinking problem. I can't hardly imagine a thirsty snake not finding his water bowl ;) Mine usually drink either when i just handled them/they ate or when i'm not looking. Doesn't apply to you though.

Well, I don't have my own just yet but from what I've read (whitch is a LOT), these snakes are pretty darn good at finding just about anything (from escape routes to hiding places) so I doubt that he hasen't found his water if he wants it, so I wouldn't worry.

sup. I just recently got a ghost corn and he knows where his water dish is already. All you have to do is dip his head in the water 1 time a day. After a little while he will know. Actually i usually put him in his water dish after I am done handling him.

My snakes was like that when i got him i didnt know if he was driking but after he gets used to the place he will get a sip or two

LOL Jicin! Dunkin Snakins instead of Dunkin donuts. But, hey...whatever works for you, as long as it's not harming the snakes.

Personally, I never had to "lead a horse to water" (lol...or snake) Ren ALWAYS takes a nice big drink right after his/her meal. Never had a problem from the get go with finding the water dish!

I just picked up my red snake. She's in blue fase right now. Poor thing. She did lay on my hand very calmly not trying to slither away. I held her above the drinking bowl and she drank quite a lot. So cute. After that i put her back. She's so miserable. My Bloodred beauty turned into a dirty pink shade. I hope she'll shed soon.
I had to give the other snake a hand with shedding last time. She was just coming to the tail part when the skin pulled loose from where she had it stuck. So she was dragging the full skin behind her but didn't have a lever to pull the last part off. I held it for her and she had a perfect shed. I'd hate to think of her having to fidget with it for hours.

I agree with Rolph. They will find the water. I did let mine drink from her dish after I held her and she drank a bunch. She also likes to drink out of the faucet for the reverse osmosis system. I don't usually like my snakes laying in the water because they have bacteria on their skin, and I don't want it in the water. I clean the water out every day.
