Okay, my snake farts.. a lot. Not even when he's in danger or anything, but when he's relaxed he'll just kind of.. let it out, lol. Like I'll be sitting here at the computer and I'll smell something like he's poo'd, and I'll get up and search though his tank for it and nothing, then he'll just stare at me like.. -_-.. you know? He farts a lot, and I'm starting to think it might not be normal. Any suggestions? Is this normal, or should I take him to the vet to get his advice? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
 
Your snake farts?? so does mine it sounds like a sneeze almost, like a little gay sneeze. He also drinks all my coffee and takes way to long in the shower, bastard uses all my hot water...
 
Are you sure it's a fart? Sometimes they musk when you have them out and are holding them. Does it actually make a noise?
 
Sometimes it makes a noise; sometimes it doesn't. And he never does it when I'm handling him. It's almost always while he's in his tank doing his thing. He's a very laid back and calm snake, so I can't figure out why he does it a lot.
 
good lord yes they musk and when that doesnt work they give you the one-two combination of musk and poop. Not pleasant, not pleasant at all.
 
Lol, my snake never gives me the courtesy of "warning" me with musk...I think he just enjoys watching me squirm while I try to figure out what to do about it.
 
My green snake I had would musk on me all the time.

It was awful. Hopefully these guys don't get the idea in their heads :)

yeah tell me about it. My amber is a really sweet girl but nails me everytime i pick her up. She doesnt try to escape, rattle her tail, bite or anything, just poops. My gf laughed the other night and told me "awww she's so relaxed when you hold her she let's loose.....literally" Could be the warmth from my hand or it could be nerves but she gets me everytime.
 
I watched my snake burp. No kidding, it had it's mooth open for a while, and it got this puffyness from mid range moviing forward and burped.
