Need a new computer, does this look like a good deal?

Old enough to know better
My little Dell is on its last legs, and I found this refurb on BestBuy's site for cheaps. It has everything I need (and a lot of stuff I don't!) so is it a good deal?

I only use it for browsing, emails, Itunes, some docs, and pics. No gaming at all, but just the smaller stuff. I wanted a lot of space for my music and pics, there are a whole lot of them!!!

Thanks!

Yup, seems decent! I'm a photographer with tons and tons of huge files and I have a 750GB harddrive and it's not full......yet. I'm pretty good about clearing the large files off and onto an External (which are SUPER cheap by the way if you wanted extra room).

But yeah, I don't know if you can really find one that's cheaper with those specs.

Some people have had bad luck with HP though and their warranty system is apparently horrendous. I've had 2 HP laptops though and had no problems whatsoever.

Go for the extra warranty if BestBuy offers it, or else if you have home insurance I think you can also insure your laptop against drops/spills/theft, etc.

Check around on those HP Pavilions. Some of them have been notable for video failures. I've got one myself that the wife has been using that has died for the second time with a video failure. The guy who fixed it the first time said it's a common problem with the Pavilions.

Probably not going to get it fixed the second time as it seems like throwing good money after bad now.

I've had my Pavilion for going on 5 years and it's still great, no problems with video, but yeah, I've definitely heard things about them.

However, I'm sure there are "things" about other brands as well, I just never paid attention to them because I have an HP :p

Yeah, we bought ours at Sam's Club when they had them on sale.

Should have known better............ :grabbit:

I am going to get a warranty through Best Buy, hopefully that will ward off the computer demons that would be guaranteed if I didn't get one. Thanks for the help, I have always had good luck with HP products and they are easy to figure out (have an HP desktop that is going strong) so this should be a good product for me, knock on wood!
