Need your opinion

Well since you did ask for opinions . . . I agree that you have a tough choice to make.

Gray Band just pops and says wow. It's sharp and colorful.
Tiger, I really really like it and the subject, but at the same time I think gift shop postcard.
The "butt" shot of the butterfly is incredibly bright and eye catching.
I really really like the canyon shot as well, but also "says" gift shop postcard except for the rain/sunlight/cloud aspect.

Those would be my four. :shrugs:

Lovely photos! I liked the newlyweds on the bike and the spiderweb and hubby (the photographer) liked the spiderweb and the dragonfly. I also liked the landscapes but hubby doesn't like landscapes in general!

Good luck!

Well guys - I submitted my photo.
I opted to go with the grayband kingsnake.

Personally, I think the landscapes are better photos - but I know there are going to be a ton of landscapes shots in this challenge that would be better than any of mine.
There will also probably be a lot of macro shots of bugs and flowers as well as zoo shots and cute kids.
SO I decided to go with something unique - something that should stand out from the same 'ol shots that a lot of others will submit. I don't expect it to finish high (there are already over 1000 photos entered in this challenge - the most ever for one challenge), but I anticipate a lot of good feedback comments on it.
Voting starts tonight at midnight and will run through next Tuesday. I will let you know the outcome.

Thank you again everyone for your input. It was a tough decision for me.

And just how do we vote?!?!?!? Hmmmmm?????? ;)

Thanks Brent! You have to be a member of dpchallenge.com to be able to vote on photos. There are 1128 in the challenge. Right now my photo is sitting at a 5.7 which is just above my average. The winning shots usually finish in the 7 range. They also have a monitoring system in place so if too many votes appear "staged" they can throw them out. But with 1128 photos, I think the voting is going to be all over the board for everyone.

I already have two comments - one from a person who doesn't like snakes but thinks the photo is beautiful!

I have taken a short glance through some of the other entries (haven't started my voting yet) but right off the bat saw some gorgeous landscape entries and macro photography entries. So even if mine doesn't finish high - it is definately unique and one I am proud of!

KATIE!! I can't find your picture on there!

Lemme rephrase that... I've only gone through 8 pages worth of pictures, and I can't find yours. What page is it on, so I can vote for ya?

Taken care of. ;) Glad to have been pointed to that site. Incredible photography there.

He knows Katie, he's just being a Brent!;)
Actually I didn't know, but I was being a Brent. She hadn't listed dpchallenge in her original post. ;)

Page 12. Page 12.

Oh, yes, and through page 12, I think I've spotted 3 tigers, a couple of lions, and numerous bugs on flower pics. ;)

It varies what page it would be on. The photos are constantly being shuffled.
And if you are going to sign up and vote - you have to vote for at least 20% of the challenge images or the votes don't count!

So far I have made it through about 65 photos myself. Trying to leave comments on all of them as well if I can!

And you are dead on Brent - there are some amazing photographers on that site.

Yeah, just saw that disclaimer. Just be sure to make note what I'm going through in order to vote for your pic! (I'm currently at 14%. I'm sure it will be perfect observing material for tomorrow's plasma donation.

Luv Ya Brent! And it is worth it - there are a lot of great photos in there. After the challenge - some people will probably also make prints available of some of their photos.
Anytime I vote on a challenge - I at least vote on all the photos. Trying to leave comments on all of them can be a challenge in and of itself (either due to volume of pictures, or just running out of things to say!).

After the challenge - some people will probably also make prints available of some of their photos.
There are a ton that would serve as incredible desktop images for the computer. I haven't had the time to delve into the site at all yet other than the 1000 challenge images, but it would be great if there was a way to get some of those images just as computer backgrounds/desktops.

I'm up to 22%... and I still haven't found your picture!
It was the graybanded kingsnake Robbie. You passed by it twice. :sidestep:
