It's just a matter of finding the vendor. They didn't have any business cards or signs. All I know is that the guy in charge was named "Tom", but I don't see the person I suspected it was on the vendor list. That's the LAST time I buy something without getting a business card. I did get some very interesting post mortem pictures, though, in case I do manage to track them down.

House Snake :crazy01:

The Unfortunate fact of these beautiful colubrids, is most of them are WC I am going to change this by next year We will have Olives, Hypos, and maybe an inter grade between the before mentioned, and a Red spotted. This past year I myself have added 5 beauties to my Brood(3.2), I have 12 eggs out of 28 that are going to make it.
The strange Thing about these Serpents is that they really love to be held, maybe its just my overactive imagination at work (or other factors 420;)) But I swear to you once my guy wraps my wrist, he will stay there for a hour, flicking this way and that, but man he loves to socialize.
I Believe these snakes because of the High Iridophore content in their skin to be one of the nicest Colubrid species, although lacking in pattern the smooth pearl like underbelly and That KNOCKOUT SHEEN to there skin will keep them embedded in the Herp World for years to follow. I myself Will be CB ing this species for the next 5-10 years, I have a direct sell agreement to a major Retailer, we are planning on over 400 House snakes a year:crazy01:

Do not be discouraged, by your recent loss:cry:, as I said before Most of these are WC:twoguns:, I have had to treat Ticks, internal parasites(that is what yours probably passed from:headbang:), and BAD scars, They are worth it. For the future, Switch them to F/T mice and treat them with Panacur but consult your local expert before hand as to Dosage (i believe that there is no overdose factor, but I am not a vet).

I already do have a CB red-phase male, and I agree! They really are great snakes! I know this girl was an import. But I had her for LESS than a day. I know a lot of imported snakes aren't expected to live that long, but seriously? That's what really ticked me off. I'll be sure to hit you up later for some nice looking Olives. ;)

Have not thought about breeding them, Because of the High Cost:bang: , Like I said The reason I can breed, Buy, and trade, is because I have an Exclusive with the Distributor(they do not pay a lot:cry: ), they take all my Corns, Milks, Kings, and if all goes smooth with the breeding season The House snakes. The future is not set in stone for us though, so If I can find a rep. Breeder I might consider it.

I would love to work with Auroras. I find them absolutely gorgeous. But I do like all house snakes, and I wouldn't mind finding a lacey red female to go with my male.
 
Well panacur is filtered via the kidneys like most other things, I talked to the vet tech that I go to shows with today, My king rat snake (Elaphe Carinata Carinata) can only take 0.01 ML of the stuff, See snakes have a special system where things must be filtered throught the liver before they go to the kidneys or else the kidneys will get overloaded and lead to kidney faliure. I don't know how the Panacur effects this but Talked to both a Great vet Dr. Ann Planeta D.V.M and Mike who is the Vet tech who met me at the show and gave me tips and a consult after I already went to the vet.

No none of the above, Have had to treat with panacur, I know it goes by weight, as was prescribed by my vet, but the dosage was very low. I do not know exact amounts against weight. Will post more when I talk to my Vet tomorrow, so we know for sure.

Anytime man. I talked o my vet today Dr. Ann Planeta she called to chek in on Jasmine. And said panacur was be weight
 
I'm so sorry Robbie. She was absolutely gorgeous! Did she give you any indications that she was not well at all? Major suckage babe... Hope you find that "Tom" guy.

David, that route of absorption and excretion is typical of just about every animal that doesn't have a primitive body system. This includes reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and avians. The small dosage isn't to protect the kidneys, it's to protect the liver. The liver is responsible for absorption, filtration, and metabolism. The kidneys are responsible for excretion and reabsorption. A large dosage can put a system into hepatic (liver) failure. If there is hepatic defficiencies, more of the drug is available to the body, which can cause toxocity and renal failure.

Its always a good idea to find a herp vet that has access to advanced diagnostic materials to determine if your herp has the capability to handle such meds.

Amen, thanks Jynx always great to have more knowledge, Pete my vet will be stopping by today after Judo. Robbie and others I will post mg/weight on Corns,kings,House, and new World Rats,and if any info is known Hybrids. If it even makes a difference. :cheers:
