New addition, one I've wanted for a long time!

I've only tried twice so far. The guy I got him from said that he was eating both live and F/T, so I'm hoping F/T is not going to be an issue. Live is a major pain but something I can do if I have to.
First attempt, I waited about an hour after dark, turned on a small lamp in the room to be able to see what I was doing and then offered him an F/T mouse off tongs. I'd run a blow dryer over it for a bit to be sure the mouse was good and hot. Even checked the temp of it with my temp gun. But he stuck his head in his coils and clamped up like a clam and hissed at me, so I left it in with him overnight but he didn't touch it.

Next attempt was much like the first except that I didn't even try and offer it to him, he started to hide his head again when I opened the cage but didn't clamp up like last time. I just left it on the floor of his cage as quick as I could and turned the lamp off quickly. But again he didn't touch it.
The first attempt was about a week and a half-two weeks before he shed, the second a day or two after he shed.

Oh, I should mention that I've never witnessed him displaying any of the typical GTP 'hunting' behaviors.

They can go a long time and he sounds like he's still stressed by the new house. Make sure all sides are covered with dark plastic or paper except the front...even the top if it's see through. They get stressed sometimes when they feel they are out in the open. He's doing typical behavior of a stressed snake although mine show the same behavior when they are due to shed. I'd make sure you heat the rat in hot water and then take some water and heat it in the microwave until it's almost boiling. Make sure the rat is very warm, dry it a bit with a paper towel to fluff the fur and then dip the nose in the boiling water. Offer on tongs after dark like you're doing. Sometimes just tapping them with the hot rat a few times will elicit a strike. He might need a little more time to get used to things. Wait a week or two and try again. If he is going into shed just wait until afterwards and try again. I've never had a chondro (except hatchlings) that wouldn't take f/t prey. Very few of mine won't eat...even in shed although I've occasionally had males that went off for breeding time. Sometimes not even then though.....

Very happy to report that Iroh ate last night with all the typical GTP feeding 'tude!

Great news! Given time they usually do....mine are all eating machines....just don't overfeed...they get fat and prolapse if you're not careful....

Got some pictures last night of him in a different position finally!

Well, Iroh has begun to live up to his name, LOL! He kept laying his head out on his perch in a cool way last night but every time I'd try to get a picture of him that way, he'd move into food begging position, even though he'd actually eaten a few hours earlier in the day. He constantly begs to be fed now.

Handsome dragon! Got to love the begging. I'm kind of envious but I don't think I could handle anything more than my atb pair as far as arboreals go. I can just live vicariously through your pics. He really is stinking adorable.

I love the emeralds and the GTPs, they're just so beautiful. Iroh is gorgeous.

Brit won't let me have one because she keeps getting told they're all mean and nasty.

They are pigs....most of mine would eat daily if you let them....they can get to be obese if you feed too often.

I've been feeding him one adult mouse every ten days but this last time I thawed an adult mouse and then ended up not able to give it to the intended snake and he was begging so hard, so he got fed two days early.

10-21 days is fine....mine go usually 21 days....right now with the power fluctuating from the ice storm...they are going to wait!
