Oh I just LOVE rainbow boas!

I've never seen a full grown one in person but I have heard its's a good idea to have 2 people around to handle them. I use to want one until I read that. My husband is not nearly comfortable enough around snakes to ask that of him. Instead i have my sites set on a black milksnake for my next snake. Shame, Rainbow boas are just beyond belief beautiful!

Where did you hear that? I've never heard that before, even from other BRB owners. I have an almost full grown BRB and it is very easy to handle her. They are active and curious snakes but I have yet to be over powered. I think you'll be fine with handling a BRB on your own.

I think people are confusing Boa Constrictors with Rainbow Boas... this is a completely different genus... way more slender, hardly a risk to an adult.
 
Yes, they aren't really dangerous but I still wouldn't want to deal with Kaylee if she decides to try and eat me while on my own.
 
I don't consider them dangerous. Just I have heard it's best to have 2 people around when they are being handled because they are quite strong.
 
Out of curiosity, what age do you think would be the minimum age as far as handling and dealing with a Rainbow? Teens? Just curious.
 
Oh they are lovely!! I'm glad her eye caps came off and I'm sure being able to see will help keep your husband from being thought of as dinner. This stuff works pretty good and can be sprayed from a little bit of a distance, in case you ever have a cranky snake with stuck shed again ;)
