New additions to the family, of the furry kind.

They are so cute!! I would love to get a calico kitten, but we already have 3 cats and I think 1 more might drive my husband to do something extreme to me :twoguns:
Not really of course, but he wouldn't be happy that's for sure ;)

They don't look old enough to neuter yet. Usually that's done at 6 months of age or after. They are cute little munchkins!
Some vets say 6 months, it's an older recommendation though. My vet says if they are at least 3 lbs it's safe to s/neuter. They don't benefit health wise from waiting, and it can actually increase the chances of them starting to mark.

Might want to read again; she did not say she was going to get them neutered, she was going to schedule appointments for it.

Makes sense that a vet would know the hows, whens and whys of the thing.....you know, someone who went to school for animal health and what-not.....

They are utterly adorable! I love the photo of the one perched on your back! My Miko does that if she is on the couch/counter/table and I happen to bend down in front of her for something - she immediately has to go sit on my back. I would love to have more myself, but with four currently, I think the roomies would have my hide if I ever walked in with another one. I swear they already think I am a "crazy cat lady-in-training".

They just went to the vet for the first time yesterday and everything went well. Got wormed and their first shots and examed. Vet says they are very healthy and thinks that Mark is going to be a huge cat when he finishes growing.

I got a few not great pictures and then my husband took some much better ones this morning. Here are mine.

To be continued ...

I think my head just exploded from the cuteness. :blowhead:

I love my Jazzcat, she's sitting on my lap and purring away to beat the band right now, but looking at those pictures is making me want a kitten. I think Jasmine would kill me if I came home with another cat, though...

I haven't updated this thread in a long time. Talked about it in DYK, the two tabby kittens developed the fatal form of FIP, (vet's best guess and the other two options were also fatal) and we had to put them to sleep on July 8th, when they were just shy of four months. Because the remaining healthy kitten was so neurotic and lonely without his brothers that as soon as we figured it was safe, we brought home another male kitten approx the same age from the city shelter, a beautiful Russian blue colored kitty with polydactyl toes that we named Gregor, also in the same theme as the others. Took them about a day to completely warm up to each other but they are now fast friends and Ivan leveled out, although they are both typical kittens and into trouble all the time.

Today, Gregor was looking really cute crashed out on the front room cat tree, so I snapped a few pictures.

Then while I was taking the pictures Ivan came running up and wanted his taken.

Then snapped a few more of Gregor.

FIP is the worst...we had a client who had back to back kittens pass away from it :( I am sorry for your losses. Your new little guy is handsome though, contrats!

Thanks! Gregor is a sweet heart. And in the last few weeks Katara, our older female cat has started to play with them in a more friendly way, though she's the boss and makes sure they don't forget it!
However, I was sure she was going to murder them this morning! She was sleeping under the covers in the middle of our bed when they both discovered her there and had a lively game of Pounce on the Hissing clump of Bedcovers! Took her about ten minutes to find her way out of them but I think because my husband, MIL and I were all there laughing at her, instead of boxing their ears, she went and sulked for awhile.

So sorry you lost the other two....it's awful when they are so young but your new cat is quite handsome! Both are beautiful!

Here are the other two furry kids, one is the boss of the house and the other just thinks she is!

Been buying a ton of bins for our baby racks in the last few months and the cats especially love the box the one kind comes in! This was about three seconds after they were emptied and hit the floor!
