New Baby!!

She's super cute, I'm sorry she bit you. I've not been bitten yet, mine have never shown aggression. I hear it's just surprising, not painful, but I'm glad neither of mine bit me after their feeding. They were just as calm as always, knock on wood ;)

Did you pick her up right after she ate or did you let the mouse move down to her belly first? I'm just curious, I waited a few minutes after they ate when it was about halfway down, I don't know where their stomach is, but it looked to be about halfway down the body before I touched them.

yeah I had to leave her in there while I set up my thermostat. so she kinda just hung out for maybe ten minutes while I made sure the temps were right

some pics of the baby :3

She is really pretty! Hades, my fire is an enthusiastic eater and will rattle his tail in his deli cup when he's done eating. I haven't been bit but I probably would if I picked him up after cause he's still in hunt mode. I just put the deli container in his viv and he climbs out. The only options we have for feeders here are petsmart and petco. Petsmarts are 6 for $12 and petco is 3 for $5. I ordered online from TSK feeders and it was so much cheaper. I ordered 200 mice of different sizes and it averaged out to be .58¢ a mouse with shipping (of course the smaller were slightly cheaper and the larger were a little more expensive). Saved so much ordering them online, even with the $33 shipping and the quality was SO much better. Was well worth it.

She's so pretty flamekitty. Will be fun to watch her grow.

She's really pretty. I guess mine haven't figured that out yet, how to climb up there. My new viv is not as tall so I bet Nagini will do it soon. Hope there's no place she can escape.

Gala, I love ur little Hades...his head marking is the coolest thing ever!!
I should prolly get a smaller feeding box so I can just do that too instead of disturbing her after eating /: she bit me and rattled her tail when I went to pick her up last time
I used to get mice from a local pet store but never went back after I started ordering from RodentPro. SO much cheaper In the long run, and I agree, better quality too!

crzy, when she figures it out, dont open the lid cuz she'll fall...my little one did cuz I had no idea where she was. she is so tiny and smooshed herself right against the side so I couldnt see her

Spec did the same thing and went between the lid. She still does once in a while and I don't know she's there and she'll fall when I take the lid off.

And Thanks. I'm pretty attached to him. He's pretty amazing. I love that they have different personalities. Spec and Hades are totally different. Go to your local grocery store deli section and ask for an empty deli cup and put holes in the side. I know you can buy large ones also and I will eventually but for now, these worked. It's what they came to me in too. I use the same one for Hades that he came in but have a tall one for Spec because she climbs out of the small short one. I'm thinking when they are bigger I'll switch to a critter carrier and then a tub/tote.

I never thought to use a critter carrier. those r pretty cheap too arent they? Popcorn came in a plastic cup thing but its like an inch deep and she'd jus slither right out before I could get the lid on
maybe ill get a small carrier for her c:

Yeah, the cup Hades came in is what I feed him in, but he's such an enthusiastic eater that I don't even need the lid. Spec on the other hand very much dislikes the little container and freaks out when I've even attempted to put her in it so I got the taller version and she doesn't have problems. I have a smaller critter carrier I got at petsmart for like $7 but they have them at Walmart for a little less then $5

I dont know my baby well enough yet to trust her in such a shallow container like the one she came in lol I will stick with the box I have until I can get a carrier

I bought these for feeding containers, there's a slightly smaller one inside the one you see, they should work for a very long time. I got them on sale for $5 at Aldi, score!

hey u got a coconut and a log jus like my Popcorn has!!

those r cute containers. I actually have some of those for my plant supplies. maybe ill dig them out and just use those

I just got some new ones from Petsmart and they seem a lot more secure, however I did need to bend one of them to get it to stay under the lip of the viv.

aahhhh ok...I might need to try these again then. are they rly annoying to put on and take back off?? is it worth it to use them?
ps I see a baby snakie tail!!!

It is more of a PITA than the others, but I'd say worth it if it keeps them inside. Might be difficult for my son to manage at first but he'll get the hang of it. Yeah, they just ate last night so I had to disturb them to rearrange the viv, so Nagini was out exploring her new digs ;)
