Does your camera have a macro feature? If so, you'll want to use that so you can get closer to your subject without affecting clearity. Those pics are incredibly blurry, definitely play around with the macro feature.
 
your snakes out of water!!! :p if you were moving the camera while taking the pics they'll turn out s little blurry or you didnt let the camera focus before you took the pics. You can use the auto focus by pushing down the button a little...when it has focused in on the object then you'll usually get a green light...unless you're using an slr cam?
