New ERO

I posted about a month ago with some photos of possible snakes. Well. I picked up my new little guy. He is an ERO hatched on 6/20/2013.

Little later (pretty sure this is him!)

The photo she sent that solidified my choice

Then here he is after I picked him up today. He kind of... pooped and then got it all over himself within the minute it took me to run upstairs to grab the a new container for him to go. I had a nice bonding experience of wiping nasty snake poop off of him

This is after i moved him to the new container to clean the old one and get paper towels ready, then I wiped it off and moved him to the cleaned old container.

So proud of himself.

Name is to be decided soon. I have a handful picked out, just have to pick one. And I am getting his tank ready now (wanted to get it ready ahead of time but my dad had to do some quick last minute fixes to the lid to make it snake-safe)

That's a nice looking ERO! I think the first three you photos posted is of a different snake though.

I think the first three you photos posted is of a different snake though.

Pretty sure it is the same snake, but his colors have been changing as he ages. The first long stretch of red in the younger photos have just broken up (you can kind of see the indents in the red, lines up to where it is broken up today) Also, the breeder keeps close track of all her snakes (logs all the feedings/weight/whatever) This is and always has been "ERO-1" The only photo i dont know for sure is the 3rd one because it wasn't labeled on the website. I just compared patterning and it looks like the same babysnake

Nope...sorry, not trying to be a killjoy, but there are two different snakes in those photos. Corns change colors as they age...not their patterns. Photos 1-3 are an incredibly aberrant ERO, while the last 4 (presuming #7 has the same dorsal pattern) are of another snake. I'd ask the person who sent you the snake why the images of two different snakes were sent to you. However, if you're happy with your new little one...than it really doesn't matter! Congrats either way, and I hope you love your new pick up.

I found the snake it actually is in the hatchling photos. Apparently it is a female. Good thing I didn't name the snake Guy like I was planning to...(I still might for giggles)

I thought they looked different too. I'd prolly name her "hERO" since we've been calling it ERO. But all those Extreme Reverse Oketees are patterned very cool.

Breeder is super apologetic. Theory is that the lids got swapped accidentally at some point. So then this snake went on being ero-1 and the other took the role of ero-16. So she is female and her new name is Elize. Elly for short. And I call Zelos Zelly. So it's Zelly Belly and Smelly Elly for her poop incident.

I actually wished for a female when I started my search but fell in love with this snake (see photo #4 for the photo I saw) so maybe this mix up was ~*meant to be*~ hahaha

Was offered the chance to swap the snakes or get a different one but she really is a sweetheart. No major fuss when I was wiping the poop off of her (other than "but I want to go EXPLOOOOORE D:"
