well boys and girls, we will be adding a new addition to the family pretty soon. it was not really a planned type deal, just one of those things that "happen", if you know what i mean. to be honest, we have enough already with all pets (10 snakes, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rats, 1 fish) to go along with 3 kids (2 at home) but we are guessing that "one more" will be o.k.
it was really a late start on the fertilization and we didn't even know that she was currently gravid. the male was a little younger than the female but also quite a bit bigger, so who knows how big this little hatchling is going to be. to be serious about it, we both thought that the female was a "little up in the years" to be going through with it, but as mentioned before......who knew. we started incubating it around 2 - 2 1/2 weeks ago i think. we had it checked on friday (by a novice) to make sure everything was o.k. today we decided to take the egg to a professional and have it checked out and for a real confirmation. we were told yes, that it is a fertile egg and everything seemed to be fine with it. all we can pray for is a nice and healthy little hatchling.
my wife's birthday is coming up on thursday 9/28 (ssssshhhhhh........she will be 41) and i was not sure what to get her. i had been looking at some other snakes on the forum and realized that she might not want a snake for her birthday. i would on the other hand, but that's a different story to be taken care of later. anyway, with the current happenings going on right now, i think i might just try and find something else, local, so i can get it within the next 2 days.
sorry i don't have any pics, but will for sure have more information for yall (name, sex, d.o.b., weight, length, etc.)when it starts pipping.......................in about 8 1/2 - 9 months. :eek1:
