Hello there. I am new to not only Cornsnakes.com but to corn snakes as well. I have been watching the various types in the pet stores and such for almost two years. I am ready to aquire one and will have him home next week on Friday.
I also have a 10 inch Oscar fish who is very spoiled.
Any input on maintenance, heating with lamps heaters or heating pad, feeding, etc. of my snake would be greatly apprectiated!

Thanks in advance :dancer:

Hi there!,

First of all "Welcome to the Forum"!

Cornsnakes are one indeed one of the best "starter" snake you can get. They are good tempered, not too big, easy to care for, a lot of different morphs to choose from and above all... they are so very cute and adorable!

You have come to the right place to research Corns, there are a lot of very nice people here with a lot of good advice and remember: "there are no stupid questions if you don't know the answers" so if you have a question….
Your question might already have been asked/answered and there is a search option which is very handy.
Please remember to read the "Sticky" at the top of every section of the forum, they are full of good info. ;)

Here is a very handy / interesting / thourough URL to a post from Lennycorn
http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showpost.php?p=338016&postcount=2

Now, on the subject of books, these are the ones that I heard the most about and I have them both books and really enjoyed reading them, they are really good!:
- "Corn Snakes : The Comprehensive Owner's Guide" by Kathy Love
- "The Art of Keeping Snakes" by Philippe De Vosjoli

I have to say, pics are a must ;)

Again, welcome!
