New And Addicted Already!
I have just recently bought my first corn snake (my first reptile) and have it in a 10 gl glass viv. We brought it home on sunday and they tolled me that they had not fed it that day and it is there feeding time and should be fed. I thawed out one of the pinkies on sunday that i got and it turned it down. Is this due to the possibility of stress that is on it from the move to its new home? I tried once again today to feed it but it turned it down as well. I will leave the pinky in cage til morning and remove it. I will try again in a couple days to give it time to situate itself here and let it feel more comfortable with its surroundings.
Also i use a heat lamp with my corn snake. Is this the best for a heat source or should i switch to a heat pad underneath the tank. I heard that some reptiles will injure or possibly kill themselves by simply sitting in that area for to long? What is a good range for the heat. I have installed a temperature gauge and a humidity gauge. I keep the temp around 80-90 degrees and humidity stays at range of 50-55.
