NEW - Pewter Female

At the show that Bekers81 got her granites, I picked up this little girl from the same person. She's from Oklahoma, but the seller couldn't remember the person's name. She shed yesterday and is a bit lighter than when I bought her. The seller did warn me that he thought she was getting ready to shed as he remembered her being a lot lighter. He said he wouldn't have been disappointed if she hadn't sold at this show, because he planned on keeping her. He'd been hauling her to these little shows for almost a year and while a lot of people said they wanted her, no one had coughed up the money. I coughed it up :)

So I have my Ultramel and this lady and no charcoal to breed them to.. well, I have a year or so before they are ready to find something :)

You'll have to forgive the pictures... I'm also trying out a brand new to me camera and I finally got some hand shots! And I know nothing about this camera whatsoever!! The manual that was sent with it was in Spanish and I speak none and read even less :) Pretty good for winging it, I think :)

She's STUNNING!!!! Does she have a name yet?

Its amazing how many people admire snakes and want them but don't cough up...I invariably cough up when I see something nice...lol So glad you got this stunning girl!!!

Thanks, Velvet :) She doesn't have a name yet, but I hope to come up with something soon. All of my snakes are to have Scottish/Celtic names, so it's a little harder to find something that fits just right and that I can pronounce :D

I think she's got a beautiful little head.
Very lovely lady.

LOL That little head was starting to flatten just a wee bit, you can sort of see it in the bodyshot. She actually struck out at me once. I jumped :D She told me in no uncertain terms that she was done with the photo shoot :)

I was wondering how long it was going to take you to get this girls pic up here! So thats why she was so dark at the show, shedding time. She looks superb and you did a great job with the pics. The female granite shed too and she looks so much better now.

:-offtopic Has she ate yet? I didn't know if the seller told you he only feeds live. I got the male to eat f/t but the female is holding out. LOL

She's really beautiful--love the dark-ness and nice diffusion; I'd have coughed it up, too! Do you think she'll be big enough to breed next year? Anyway, she's awesome!

The first set of pictures I got of her didn't do her justice, so I refused to post them :) Had to have her looking goooooooooood to show her off :D

She did eat last Sunday for me. And yes, I was a little worried, because the live feeding did come up in our conversation. She took her sweet time about downing it, even the f/t dance didn't incite any interest in her. I finally turned the lights off and left her alone and crossed all my fingers and toes. Came back about an hour later and it was aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall gone :D

Hopefully, your female will gobble it up the next time :)

I'm not sure if she'll be ready or not... she's an 06 and I was surprised when she only weighed in at 66ozs... but she's on the Munson plan now and I expect her to take off soon :) I upped the feeding on the other two '06s and every 5days opposed to every 7 days on them is really making a difference.

She looks great, Ginger. She has nice diffusion for being so dark. Congrats!

Thanks Dean, I've been holding out waiting for Paul and Paula and almost didn't get this little girl... ask Becky how many times I went back to that table, but finally decided one can never have enough Pewters :D

At least she was 66g. My male is 50g and the female is 56g. I too am putting them on a 5 day plan for a while. Figure I will give them some time and see how quickly/slowly they progress. I hope they all 3 catch up to a decent size!

Were the Granites 06s or 07s? I just assumed that they were 07s... bad to assume, I know :)
