New pink snake needs name.

I have decided to get this guy, from the same breeder as I got my cinder and ultramel anery from, 5 Star Serpents. He's a dreamy pink 2014 opal stripe, and I've been drooling over him since last year! Now he just needs a name. I'm leaning towards Mirage, but I'm also open to a "tough" name to offset the pretty color and help him still feel manly. Like Remington or Slash or something. Any suggestions?

I'm so excited, I can't wait to meet him! Here he is, a picture taken by the breeder for me today.

No name ideas, but congratulations!

Thank you! Now I just need a black snake, and I'm all done for a while I think. I just discovered the Russian ratsnake and really really want either one of those or a black milk snake. But I have no idea if anyone in western Canada has them. Everyone has mexican black kings, but my understanding of them is that they like to chew on fingers. Ugh.

I wish we had black corn snakes! :sobstory:

I can't offer any suggestions, but best wishes on finding the perfect black snake. Way back when, when I was in high school, there was an indigo snakes in the biology dept that I loved and handled all the time. I have fond memories of that black snake!

That IS a manly name! :D Too bad my aunt and uncle already stole it for my cousin. By the way, that reptile in your profile pic is amazing! Is it one of yours? (I know nothing about reptiles with legs, so I have no idea what it is. An iguana??)

How about Ol' Yeller, that will totally throw the people off.

I thought about an ironic name. It is, after all, a pink boy. But decided against it. Ol' Yeller would have been perfect though, since he's neither a dog, nor yellow.

Thanks for the suggestions! I came up with an idea last night, slept on it, and I still like it this morning. So I have a name for him now. I feel paranoid that I'll jynx him somehow if I go naming him like he's mine before he actually arrives!! But I'm not a superstitious person, so I'm not sure why I suddenly feel that way, and I'm not going to let it stop me.

So unless he arrives and it totally doesn't suit him, his name is going to be:
Solace

Oh my God you joined the Opal club!
Yay for Opals!
He is so super beautiful, congratulations!!

Thank you!
I just commented on your opal progression thread so that I will get notified when you post updates. I'm really interested to see how lava will affect his colors.

I'm losing my mind waiting to hear from the breeder whether she will be delivering him tomorrow, or whether I will need to go pick him up, and when I can do that! I'm so excited!! :bird:

Pictures will definitely be forthcoming. Just talked to the breeder, and Solace will be coming home on Saturday. I can't wait!! Only one more week!

Such a pretty young man! I love that slightly deeper ocher color he has on his head/neck. Though that may just be some fantastic lighting.
